Bill’s dislike for spreading powdered basalt as “geoengineering” to retard climate breakdown is unfounded. It could take advantage of fertilizer and pesticide distribution networks to disseminate it by adding the basalt at the fertilizer and pesticide factories. Using renewable energy in mining/crushing would cut any carbon penalty. Other “drawbacks” are equally transparent.

It is the colossal scale that is the problem. There is nowhere near enough renewables to replace FF energy production, let alone the vast addition needed for this. LET'S JUST CUT EMISSIONS!

Fully agree! 200 megatons/yr fertilizer (w/basalt) is 0.1% carbon/yr

Well summarised. Soon the term 'doomer' will be obsolete; just as 'climate alarmist' has already been.
